Frequently Asked Questions about the Stantron Product Line
Q: What happened to the SF200 Series rack frame?
A: Only the name has changed. The SF200 legacy frame
is now called Pioneer. The specs are the same as
before. Some new sizes have been added, some older
models no longer exist.
Q: Can you retrofit my existing frames and consoles?
A: Some of the older console models can no longer be
serviced but for the most part, we can still supply you side
panels, doors, etc as before and have even more options
these days. There's no assurance that vents will be in
the same place or that handles will be the same as they
were, but most of the modern versions of such components will work
on your existing frames.
Q: What do you need from me to identify what I possess?
A: We need the overall frame height, width, and depth to
match up your product.
 |
When considering height, don't count any
casters or leveler legs. Measure from the bottom
of the frame to the top. Tell us whether you have
the 3" tall pontoon base at the bottom of the frame,
which today is an integrated base.
|
 |
For the depth, measure the frame only,
not counting front or rear doors. |
 |
When measuring the width, don't count
side panels. |
 |
While there have always been a myriad of
heights, legacy frames are either 22.16", a true 24", or
27.16" wide. They were available in 3 depths;
25.63", 30.88", or 36.13" overall. The 22" deep
frame is no longer serviced. Now you can get a 42"
deep frame as well on most models of the Pioneer.
|
Q: When
should I use the Pioneer frame versus the new A/V or
Broadcast Rack frames?
A: A/V & Broadcast are new
products.
 |
Pioneer frames are
6.25" taller than the same matching size model (i.e. 40U
vs. 40U) |
 |
Pioneer should always be
used when trying to match a legacy SF200 series Stantron
frame. |
 |
A/V Broadcast racks are
only 22" wide. Standard width on a Pioneer is
22.16". Both hold 19" rack gear.
|
 |
When you need to rack
gear that is 23 or 24" wide or need wider 27" cable
management frames for 19" equipment.
|
Q: Are
seismic frames certified for Zone 4 Bell core 63 use?
A: Yes, but you must balance
the equipment loaded in the rack. For example, if you
had half your equipment in the front of the frame and half
in the rear you would be okay. Otherwise, you must
balance the opposite end of the frame with a set of filler
panels, sizes to be determined by the height of the frame
itself being ordered. |
